One of my intrepid commenters--you know who you are—regularly couches his criticisms of my humble (hah!) opinions with such laments as “that’s the problem with you bloggers…,” “your post is why real journalists don’t use internet resources…” Now, no one around here claimed to be a “real journalist,” Bill O’Reilly. (Oh, wait, that’s not your name.) I just read the reportage and commentary of the “real journalists” and register my opinion.
With that in mind--and just to yank my nameless commenter's chain a bit--I have added two categories of news and commentary links, called the “Professionals” and the “Experts.” The categories will be updated continuously as I add sources.
Commentary/blogs versus new reportage: here’s a general word to the wise. Don’t try to back up any position you take with me by using someone else’s commentary or bloggage unless he/she has factual information that you think I may have not considered when forming my opinion on a subject. Otherwise, the commentary/bloggage is just as worthless (or worthy) as mine. No more, no less.
