Your Deal

What? Race card? What race card would that be, Walter? Ohhh, you mean this one!

race_card.gif

I thought that you leftists believed in sharing resources. Guess that doesn't include this particular one.

(Thanks to whomever I lifted this .gif from. I think it was Robert. I knew it'd come in handy sooner or later.)

UPDATE: I should have known that the race card was a Frank J. creation.

No, It's not my .gif, but I wish it was. That's a good one.

That was originally from Frank J.
Don't know who sent it to Baldilocks, though...

Leftist? Well, hmm, I guess next to you, probably? Next to Noam Chomsky? Probably not. Next to many people I know? Probably not.

I don’t want to “ASSume” here, but I hope you didn’t mean that term pejoratively because that won’t work with me sister.

I didn’t know that criticizing the President’s policy made one a “leftist" but I guess if it makes one a racist, why not? I though it possibly made one an individual thinker. Personally, I like to think of myself as a walterist and view the world through my own prism, not an ideology. But hey, if you wish to see the world so black and white (pun indeed intended), go right ahead.

Glad to see you dodging any sort of substantive reply.

Oh lighten up Walter (no pun intended) and stop taking yourself so seriously. Okay, you're not a leftist.

And this is a substantive reply to this: I see we're playing the race card here. Hmmm, I thought that was supposed to be something only liberals and Democrats did?

Or did you forget that you posted it?

I have no problem with people playing the race card when it turns up in their hand, as it still does more often than it should. My two problems are those who lead with it because they expect an automatic trump, and those who deal it off the bottom of the deck. Hows that for pushing a metaphor?

Incidentally, here's the Frank J. race card article:

Thanks, Arnold! I always like to give due credit.

You stole my Race Card™!

Kidding. Thanks for the credit.

Milwaukee alderman, acting mayor and mayoral candidate Marvin Pratt has been under investigation for campaign finance irregularities. Yesterday, eight days before the mayoral election, the States Attorney announced that he was filing a civil complaint. The books are such a mess that he cannot prove intent to defraud, despite the fact that the city was billed for certain legitimate mayoral expenses first paid from the campaign fund, and the books do not show that the fund was reimbursed.

Mayor Pratt is publicly claiming that the investigation and charges are nothing but a racially motivated attack by the white establishment. Oddly enough, two white aldermen went to jail last year for lesser irregularities involving smaller sums of money. One of them, mine, whom I consider a personal friend, based his defense on a claim of sloppy bookkeeping.
