U.S. Air Force Chaplains Gary Garvey and Lonnie Baker seek assistance to expand their efforts to help children in schools and orphanages in Kirkuk Iraq. Chaplain Garvey writes, "You just cannot believe the poverty here in Kirkuk. While the land is rich with oil all of the control and oil revenues have gone to Baghdad. Most of the Iraqi folks here have nothing. We have targeted schools and mud-hutted areas.
"The amount of poverty and desperation after the Hussein regime is legion. Hopefully kids will grow up in this free Iraq because we were here. Kids just love to hear you talk and sing and know that you care about them. We will help them again in the future.[SNIP]
"Americans in uniform delivering supplies to schools and orphanages demonstrates that Americans care about helping Iraqis move toward a brighter future. Americans are willing and able to invest in that future through a commitment to their children's' education and well being now. Let's give our servicemen the supplies that are most needed for them to help Iraqi children. If we don't who will? There is no one else."Read on and if you’re so inclined,
