This will look lovely on TV tonight.

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) suffered minor abrasions after falling off a mountain bike while cycling on his Texas ranch on Saturday, the White House said. The make-up artists will earn their money on this occasion.
President Bush will spell out his plans for Iraq (again) tonight at 5PM PST during a national-televised broadcast. I hope you have cable or a dish, because none of the free broadcasters will be carrying the transmission. The White House didn't ask them to. I wonder whether any other president has ever had to ask the Big Three to carry his major prime-time speeches.

UPDATE: Great make-up job.

The speech was pretty decent as well. The president put forth the same Iraq agenda to the public that those of us who have been paying close attention already knew much about. No wonder the major networks didn't bother to broadcast it.
I watched the speech on C-SPAN on my monitor. The calls taken afterward were reassuring and frightening.
UPDATE TWO: I heard a rumor that all free networks here in LA--except for NBC--did broadcast the speech.
