The Addict
Two people have given me an email heads-up on the latest Ted Rall offering, one which is extremely insulting to Condoleezza Rice and to black women in general. Originally, I hadn’t planned on giving Rall’s latest “comic” strip the time of day and I’m only changing my mind to point this out: attention is what he’s craving. If negative attention is the only type he can get, he’ll take it. I suspect that he can get little of any other brand.
I briefly viewed Rall’s interview by FoxNew’s Hannity and Colmes some weeks back. Infuriating is the nicest word I can think of to describe him. However, there was something more that I observed about his demeanor: he loved Alan Colmes’ polite disapproval and seemed to thrive on Sean Hannity’s barely contained vitriol. Rall wants your hate, folks. He’s smoking it, snorting it, shooting it up
Frankly, I think that one has to respect another’s thinking process in order to hate or revile that person. Ted Rall is too busy feeding his fix to develop a thinking process. And, no, he gets no link from me. His work can be found easily enough.
(Thanks to Reader David H. and to Michelle Malkin)

I'm starting to apply (or try to) what I call the "Blaine/Ugarte Postulate" to leftists like Rall:
(from *Casablanca*):
Ugarte: You despise me, don't you?
Rick: If I gave you any thought I probably would.
These people aren't worth the mental energy you'd need to expend to hate them.

I read about this earlier today. As unsurprising as it is disgusting. At least Red Ted is picking on living targets again. Over at Michelle Malkin's site there is info on some new clothing lines Rall has inspired.

You've got it all wrong - Ted Rall is a born statesman. Like all American heroes, he simply has a few unresolved issues stemming from his youth. You know the type - he was the slimey guy in high school who hated all the pretty girls and constantly got beat up by Pat Tillman types. Most of these guys grew up to write for the New York Times - I'm sure he'll get there eventually.

Juliette, I was thinking the same thing. A few people have e-mailed me, and I've commented on other's posts. But I don't think I'm going to rant on this one. The rant would be against "black leaders" for not saying anything, not so much against Rall himself.

Why are you all wasting any time on this idiot?

To point out that we shouldn't feed Rall's fix, isn't wasting time, Ara.
