Actually I don’t dislike Maxine Waters, I just think she’s wrong most of the time. Occasionally, she's also good for an unintentionally funny line or two.
Then there’s Prometheus & Sabrina’s Typepad Vocabulary Challenge. (Prometheus is not to be confused with Prometheus 6).
I managed to come in sixth. Guess that Word thesaurus is pretty handy after all. Webster’s dead-tree three-volumed Third is used around here as well, in spite of its microscopic, ever shrinking print. ;-)
While you're at it, take this vocabulary test. I took it some months ago, when Michele linked to it and took it again yesterday: 153 out of 200 with a considerable number of WAGs. Fun, if you have geek tendencies like your hostess.
