One Little Mistake
Okay, enough with the downers.
One of our good friends to the north has succeeded in cheering me up a bit--he usually does—by posting this little boo-boo from Nova Scotia's Office of Health Promotion and Public Health Services.
HALIFAX, N.S. - An embarrassing spelling mistake has caused Nova Scotia's Health Department to recall thousands of pins meant to support the annual flu-shot campaign.
The letter "L" was omitted from the word "public" on pins given out to health-care workers. As Paul points out, nothing wrong with that kind of health either.

HEH, cheers for the link, luv. :)

Well, at least it wasn't for "beast examinations".

I don't know about you, Baldilocks, but THIS Canadian doesn't want no "Department of Pubic Health" coming near him with big needles on a vaccination campaign. Thanks anyway.
Others' mileage may vary, of course. Not that there's anything wrong with that....

Taking this way too seriously:
As a proofreader, I know that I have to read EVERYTHING. People's eyes tend to slide past headlines, captions, page footers, repetitive stuff. When I proofread something at work, I look at every speck on the page, even the stuff that repeats from week to week, even our address and phone number.

Teri: people like you are priceless, in a good way. Seriously.

It was probably a cost-saving measure. Think of how much money they saved by leaving out that letter. ;-)
