Well, my house isn’t, but I live in very old house, built on level ground.
Just last week, I was tooling south on Lincoln Blvd. in Culver City during one of the short pauses between the rainstorms that have hit Southern California. I looked to my right and noticed some beautiful houses—possibly townhouses—sitting on a treeless hill, precariously close to the drop-off and murmured, “I’d be staying with friends, if I lived there.”
As far as has been reported, the Culver City homes haven’t slid down the slope. Yet. But the folks that own these homes in Highland Park—just north of downtown LA--were not so fortunate.

There are downsides to everything. Remember the wildfires that hit this area in 2003? Part of what made them so devastating was that Southern California was in the midst of a drought. Well, the drought is most definitely over now.
Godspeed, fellow Californians.
