But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
--Matthew 18:6
I haven’t posted on this subject simply because it makes me angry enough to want to do something drastic.
In view of the fact that HIV and AIDS are rampant in Africa, UN “peacekeepers” stationed in Congo have found a near sure-fire way to reduce the risk of contracting the virus: raping children (yes, both boys and girls).
This isn’t a new problem, nor is it a racial one. UN troops from African countries and from European countries alike are engaged in damaging the spirit and bodies of children; using them and then discarding them like old food containers.
In response to these crimes, the UN issued a “Zero-Tolerance” decree and, duly noting the powerlessness of the decrepit, ineffectual institution, peacekeepers are ignoring it.
Some of them duck down in the rocks with prostitutes in lava fields. Others patronize brothels located near the base. These are clear violations of the rules under "zero tolerance," which includes a strict curfew and a ban on contact between U.N. peacekeepers and local women.
Some transgressions have even been caught on tape. One video shows local police pulling a U.N. peacekeeper out of a prostitute's bed during a raid.
The sex scandal that triggered "zero tolerance" involved multiple allegations of rape, child pornography and kidnapping, some of it photographed by a U.N. official accused of raping more than one hundred virgin girls. But as the tape suggests, policy from New York isn't changing behavior in the Congo.
Noting the ever-continuing screeching regarding the Abu Ghraib scandal involving adults—even though those disgraces to the uniform were apprehended and were already on trial before the scandal became known in the general public--can you imagine the sound of the outcry were US soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan behaving in this manner? Now I’m not saying that there aren’t some perverts in the US military. Abu Ghraib proves that there are. But US military command structure has teeth, unlike that of the UN. As Abu Ghraib also proves, any soldier/Marine, etc. caught committing such perverted acts, would and will be arrested at once—not to mention the likelihood that a commander would probably have to protect such an animal from getting the stuffing beat out of him by his fellow soldiers.
When I watched Steve Harrigan’s (Fox News) series on the Congo atrocities, there was a little girl who, through a translator, recounted being raped by a white peacekeeper after having he lured her with a piece of candy. Mr. Harrigan, who is white, later noted that another little girl who had also been raped by a white man, understandably, wouldn’t get near him. Contrast this with the dozens of accounts by troops stationed in Iraq who say that the Iraqi children flock to them, looking for candy, toys or just to hang out with them in general. These kids don’t look too scared to me.
Nor do these.

Are our troops more “saintly” than the peacekeepers? No (arguably). We all fall short, in greater or lesser ways. But our military screens its recruits with a fine-toothed comb and even when some bad-actors are allowed in—no screening process is perfect--our military punishes them and acts to purge them from the ranks. It doesn’t submit some bogus “zero-tolerance” policy for mere media butt-covering purposes.
The US Armed Forces are also held to stringent standards by the civilian population whose liberty it protects and serves. Additionally, it is subject to the dissection of its actions by the professional media world-wide; now more than ever.
Note, however, that a US Marine is raked over the media coals for shooting a “fallen” enemy whose fellows have shown a propensity to blow self up and take a given Marine with them, but that same media shows a “ho-hum, what can you do?” attitude when monsters rape children under the auspices of the United Nations.
Where does New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd stand on this matter when she’s not complaining about lacking suitors? And, when he’s not violating Godwin’s Law, where does allegedly-reformed former KKK Kleagle US Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) stand on the violation of little black children?
That’s what I’d like to know.

UPDATE: UN Peacekeepers are unable to keep it in their pants the world over. UPDATE: Just when you though you'd heard and seen enough, here's more proof of what the UN is:UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Jeers and catcalls greeted the top U.S. delegate to a global women's conference on Friday as she stressed Washington's opposition to abortion and support for sexual abstinence and fidelity. [SNIP] The loudest catcalls, unusual at the world body, came when she articulated U.S. policy on AIDS prevention for adolescents: "We emphasize the value of the ABC -- abstinence, be faithful, and correct and consistent condom use where appropriate -- approach in comprehensive strategies to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS and the promotion of abstinence as the healthiest and most responsible choice for adolescents."I guess the preferred UN method of birth control and STD “prevention” is to bag seven-year-olds. Disgusting is too weak a word for that nest of vipers.
