Oh Really?

Bono, off message.

Well, I think [President Bush has] done an incredible job, his administration, on AIDS. And 250,000 Africans are on antiviral drugs. They literally owe their lives to America. In one year that's being done. … Yes, there's a lot of pressure on President Bush. If he, though, in his second term, is as bold in his commitments to Africa as he was in the first term, he indeed deserves a place in history in turning the fate of that continent around.
But, but, but I thought Africa’s suffering was Bush’s shame. So confusing.

Not really.

Don't give Bush's admin too much credit (Bono) on the Aids issue. The drug companies only recently came up with a single-daily dose cocktail. Previously, the cocktail needed multiple drugs taken at timed intervals. Guess what country has a dire dirth of watches among Aids victims? The drug treatment wasn't feasible before 2004?

Look at what $3 billion in aid can do..

...get praise from Bono.

Does Bush get a signed copy of one of his CDs with that?

Actually, Bono's been very gracious toward G.W. almost from the get-go. He's been to the White House. It's said they understand each other.
