It's Hurricane Season Again
And this one--dubbed Katrina--is a little closer to our South Florida friends, Castro's Bane Val P. and Steve H. I was all worried about them but both of the raging opportunists are hurricane-blogging, so I guess they're okay.
The rest of you south Floridians, be safe!

Fark already called it Katrina and the Waves! ("I'm pouncing on Sunshine -- state -- and don't it feel good?")

It looked pretty bad passing through FL as a cat 1. Now it's in the gulf and expected to make a second landfall as a 4 or so. Ugh.
This week was the anniversay of Andrew. Andrew with an A. This is K and we're not into September.

I've been getting pounded by it all day.
I went to sleep last night secure in the knowlege the she was going to hit around Miami and head north westish from there.
I got up to go to work this morning and she had gotten all fickle overnight and was basicly camping out right on our (Key West) doorstep by about 10:00
It`s been raining with winds at a steady 50 mph with gusts to about 80 since then and the old girl is acting like an old Phrench whore with nowhere to go.
SHE WON`T LEAVE!
Irene was worse as far as the wind was concerned, and she lasted 24 hours straight, but Katrina has the whole islands flooded (if you can believe that)
I went out to look at my A/C to see if I could turn it on and it halfway under water so I pulled the 220 circut, just in case.
As a side note, go here see what happened today in history.
It`s pertainent to both, blacks, and women, of the American variety.

Ill tell you what??????
I dont get cable but I get good stuff , ocassionally , Even public broadcasting cant liberalize music . Austin city limits right NOW { repeat],
[Its even better the secound time] Like spahegetti,
The Blind Boys of Alabama , If you want an uplifting experience
Youre legs will lift=up and so will youre spirits { Provided you're alive] " People get
ready the'res ,a . train a comin
dont need no baggage you just stp on-board " This is the train that stops everyday for every soldier or innocent victim
That dies in Iraq everyday This is the one that goes up!!!! This country needs to be uplifted . Everyone has stickers on theyre rigs in my town , Which is GREAT,
But the liberal news is killing us And I think George W Bush needs to come on television every week an counteract the Negativity
Ive been behind him all along BUT Lets face it the soldiers and we ,need encoragement and reassurement , that we are with them 100% Did we not learn anything from Veit Nam?

Just our luck, J, to have moved from DC the very day the base evacuated for Hurricane Dennis. Now, here we are a little over a month later, with another freakin' hurricane coming this way.
