We should avert our eyes when someone goes so publicly insane, but Cindy Sheehan--mother of Spc. Casey Sheehan (USA), KIA in Iraq--won’t let us.
If George Bush truly listened to God and read the words of the Christ, Iraq and the devastation in New Orleans would have never happened. [SNIP](Emphasis mine.)George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self [sic] from power.
I get a lot of whack-job visitors who claim to know what the God of the Bible has up His sleeve and who claim to know what Jesus Christ would say or do. None of them ever seem to have a verse handy, however, or even seem to know where to find an appropriate one on the Internet in order to back up their words (likely, because they have no idea where to look, since they haven't opened up a dead-tree version in a while, if ever). They say “God hates you because of this,” or “God wouldn’t like it if you did this,” or “God is punishing you because of this.” Ms. Sheehan words fall in this category; she speaks of a God, a Christ that I don’t recognize by the description she gives of His (Their) behavior and reasoning. (Of the former, I only know what I read. Of the latter, the only thing I know is that His ways aren't my ways; nor are they Cindy's ways.)
And occupied New Orleans? ::::snort:::: There isn’t much one can do with that.

The sad thing is that losing her son has apparently driven Cindy Sheehan (even farther) around the bend. She has become a spectacle, a limelight addict; not caring how she gets on that stage. And having been eclipsed by a city-destroying perfect storm, she acts boldly to re-assert her place in the light even if it means evoking a vengeful God, spewing the nonsensical, and stating the exact opposite of the leftist talking points in order to bash and blame President Bush. No stinking storm and a bunch of homeless black people are going to steal her show, no sirree. At least not for very long.
The frightening thing (not to me) is that leading leftist lights and Bush opponents like Michael Moore and Arianna Huffington would allow such madness to be posted without comment on their respective sites. Is this sort of thing supposed to convince anyone to come around to their way of thinking? The Coast Guard have been plucking people off rooftops almost since the levees broke. The Army—both Guard and AD—swooped down and fed, clothed and evacuated those souls in the Superdome and the Convention Center and are now helping to recover the dead mothers, fathers and/or children of someone and will eventually help in the clean-up. Is this what Mrs. Sheehan calls an occupation (never mind the stupidity of a country occupying itself)? Is this what she's calling for an end to?
See that moral authority slip through Mrs. Sheehan's fingers.
