This is big news on drudge at the moment. The sub would've been sunk within minutes if it did fire a torpedo at the Kitty Hawk but any nation would gladly lose a sub to an air craft carrier. While this is embarrassing, the personnel on the Kitty Hawk were probably not in any kind of alert status.

That warmongerer Clinton got us into this mess in 1996? I'm being funny of course. The United States has conducted exercises every year in different areas of the world. It's the Navy way. Readiness is important. There is always new personnel and they have to be trained. They have to be trained for safety reasons and familiarity with the equipment so that everything is second nature.

Now that Rumsfeld is gone, how did this happen? Must be that our troops still think torture is ok because of some Bush memo that said torture is ok. Democrats and the drive-by legacy media have said that Bush is for torture enough times that I think our uneducated soldiers believe it (BTW, I was in the Navy for 6 years and this is an obvious reference to Kerry's "joke"). But seriously, I just hope the media doesn't blow this out of proportion and call for hearings or investigations. I can just see David Gregory heckling Tony Snow about the video now.
