Blackfive: Merry Christmas to the Troops

Matt of Blackfive asked a bunch of bloggers--including yours truly--to wish the men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We did and do so. So if you're over there reading, this is for you.

Also, GreyHawk is home from Iraq and planning a party!

Great idea. You came across beautifully. You also looked beautiful.

We cannot possibly do enough for the young men and women who are over there protecting us. Sometimes I think we need them here protecting us from the politicians as well.

Ditto to give kudos to the other troops, my brethren and some of yours, in Iraq and Afghanistan. And those in other places that're crappy.

However, we know better than anyone that we are NOT protecting Americans and it's a put down and a demeaning solicitude to say "thank you for protecting us," as we know that the Iraq war is a farce and the Afghan war went agley (awry's much elder cousin) after about 3 weeks in 2001.

To say 'thank you' and expect a red face or 'awwwwh shucks' is about as 7th grade as life can get. How dumb does America think we really are?

We had no problems with either Iraq or Afghanistan (9/11 by the friends of Texan's, the Taliban? Try a bit of realism for a change).

HOOAH! Believe me, just a simple “thank you” makes a Soldier’s day. Great job!

Lookin' good, hostess. Just as I've always pictured you.

Merry Christmas Baldi!

You looked gorgeous!! Merry Christmas and I hope you stay blogging. I enjoyed our back and forth.

All who said I'm gorgeous are on Santa's good list. :-)
