"Inflammatory and Appalling"

...are Wright's statements, according to Senator Obama. Obama will presumably make this assertion this evening to Major Garrett on Fox News Channel's Hannity & Colmes and on Greta van Susteren's show.

So you'll excuse me while I run some errands now in order to be back home in time to catch that live; not that it will be believable, but it will for sure be memorable.

UPDATE: Wright, who had a role as a spiritual adviser in the senator's presidential campaign, takes his leave.

Rev. Wright is no longer serving on the African American Religious Leadership Committee.

I'm not familiar with Obama's campaign structure and I find the name of this committee curious. Something labeled for African Americans? Only? In a presidential campaign? A campaign for the US presidency?

UPDATE: "Vehemently disagree, strongly condemn, categorically denounce and reject outright." But Jeremiah Wright "prophesied" that this would have to happen.

“If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,” Mr. Wright said with a shrug. “I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.”

It's a miracle!

My aunt belongs to Rev. Wright's church. Been there for as long as Senator Obama. She's always told me Rev. Wright goes off on his, as she calls it, "getting white folks sermons" during certain church events. But it's not a regular thing for him. Regardless she respects his ministry and his work in the community.

Either way, my aunt is nothing like Rev. Wright. Heck her mother, my grandmother, is white as snow. But it's strange how my aunt goes to church yet ignores Rev. Wright's inflammatory rhetoric. She says his good outweighs is "stupid talk". Is that what Sen. Obama is doing? And is it more that if Senator Obama just stayed a senator but wasn't running for POTUS, we wouldn't hear about this (a question of presidential judgement?).

Senator McCain has a "National Director of Hispanic Outreach" who's been the cause of some problems as well. So it doesn't seem something to Obama.
