Several good, kind readers--including anonymous Milbloggers--come to my rescue, or rather, to the rescue of Obama Kogelo Secondary School Students and the non-profit is created! Now the website is being built at obamaschool.org; I will let everyone know when it goes up.
So the first battle is won, now the second, longer one looms. Stay tuned and please...

I don't have a PayPal account but I will donate also. I am excited about the opportunity. Thanks for thinking of it.

I have completed my donation. Again thanks for the idea. Hope to do more later.

Here's another possibility for you. If we get this together and I can time it to coincide with a visit to Uganda for my normal charitable work, I'll actually go to the village with whomever else is going and do what I can to help the implementation.

You're also on http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/ and I've contacted several other big blogs, including the biggest PUMA site. Not sure what their level of interest might be, but can't hurt.

What percent of the money will go to the school, and what percent will be used for administration of the NPO or to paypal?

God bless you for doing this. Donation sent.

Made a donation for this good cause.
I had a hard time parting with my hard earned money for something named after this empty suit but felt the cause was too important to let pettiness get in the way.
Perhaps in future it could be renamed the GW Bush school in honor of the first president to put his words into action and help the people of Africa.

This is how stuff gets done. Charity begins at home. Government isn't the answer. Thank you so much for taking this project on. Keep us updated on how much you raise!

sent a small amount.
hope it helps.

Paypal always takes a few % of each transaction. There's not much you can do about that.

Donation made, please keep us updated as to the amount and what our funding produces for the school.
Now THIS is change I can believe in! What audacity this school had to hope for Obama to actually fulfill his promise rather than simply make another photo-op empty suit promise.

I came here from Michelle Malkin's site.
Something about this just touched my heart. I get appeals for charity all the time and would go broke quickly if I gave every time I was asked.
But this story, these brave teachers and principal struggling to bring learning to kids, well, that pried open my thin little pocketbook.
Plus, there's the satisfaction of giving one, symbolically of course, right in the kisser of that sanctimonious elitist snob who promised, and then abandoned, these kids.
