Obama may have left Black Liberation Theology’s Trinity United Church of “Christ,” but it certainly hasn’t left him.
Obama continued: "And so the only way they [sic] figure they’re going to win this election is if they make you scared of me. So what they’re saying is, ‘Well, we know we’re not very good but you can’t risk electing Obama. You know, he’s new, he’s... doesn’t look like the other presidents on the currency, you know, he’s got a, he’s got a funny name.'The candidate belonged to a church that subscribed to an ideology of racial vengeance and victory. He may have left the church, but he hasn’t left the racial combat notions behind, not by a long shot. So he must keep Sowing the racial Discord. Fortunately, for him, that isn’t difficult, since the idea that Republicans were the party of racists was planted long before Obama came on the scene.
So no matter how much McCain demonstrates that he is the very opposite of racist, he is at a disadvantage. It’s tough to fight forty years of indoctrination.
Obama’s purpose in keeping up this tactic of racist smearing is twofold: 1) to keep the troops stoked, and 2) to help the nation to forget that he allied himself with a set of racists for twenty years, the truth be damned.

UPDATE: Ace:
These guys are so horny for someone to call Obama a shiftless darkie they're thisclose to saying it themselves.I'm trying to be offended. Maybe after I stop laughing.

Have you not heard of televangelsit John Haggee or televangelsit Ron Parsley, McCains Right wing spiritual guides? Both these Televangelist have called for eradicating the "false religion" of Catholicism. And Hagee recently said that the Holocaust was Gods plan for the Jews. These weren't just stray comments but are typical what they say on a weekly basis. And the millionaire maverick only distanced himself from these clowns after it became clear it would impact his fund raising among a certain demographic. These "Pastors" are typical of the religious aspect of the Republican party. Why do you think the "liberal media" has not focused as much attention on this as Reverend Wright?

"Have you not heard of televangelist John Haggee or televangelist Ron Parsley"
Heard of both of them. Used to watch them on TBN. Neither of them is preach racial superiority. A good portion of Parsley's church is black and Hagee is married to an American of Mexican descent, for Heaven's sake. And McCain did *not* attend either of their churches for a minute, much less twenty years. And I won't even bother addressing your sides' mis/disinformation.

Ah the old slight of had. Yes I did not present examples of racial bigotry -you caught me.
So should I assume then that because they are not bigots when they regularly bash Catholicism and refer to Hittler carrying out a divine plan to lead Jews to form the modern state of Israel, blaming Jews for the death of Jesus, calling liberal Jews "poisoned" and "spiritually blind," and stating that the preemptive nuclear attack on Iran will lead to the deaths of most Jews in Israel.
These televangelist who McCain so eagerly sought out, ironically sound just like Louis Farakhan and you admit to spending time watching this stuff. Do you watch Farakhan too?

And McCain has separated himself from them. Again, he does not proclaim their ideology himself, and he did not spend two decades attending their churches before separating himself from them.
Back on the original topic - he doesn't sound much like a "post-racial" candidate to me.

He separated himself after some of his donors threatened to cut of the money for allowing the antisemitic comments to go unanswered. Up to that point McCain, the media, the republicans and you in the far right were completely fine with letting them spew this stuff. Baldi herself admits to watching these televangelist who promote religious and ethnic bigotry. When did she separate herself from these bigots? No this type of rhetoric has been sloshing around the in main stream right wing circles for decades. The old McCain that ran against Bush in 2000 called these people that prophets of hate. I wish that McCain had run.

Barry's novelty is wearing off fast, and he knows it. So he's going to gamble on whether most of us are impressed by this racist talk. I'm betting most of us ain't.
