'I am the Surge'

Vets for Freedom produces an ad demanding that the Democratic Party--specifically its leader, Barack Obama--acknowledge the success of Iraq Surge and, therefore, its authors, the United States Armed Forces:

Senate Resolution 636

I'll write checks, send the word, make t-shirts, whatever, for this as soon as Republicans admit George Bush was wrong about every other assertion about Iraq since 9/11/01 e.g Iraq oil would pay for the war, the war would be over in 6 weeks, greeted as liberators, mission accomplished, statue of Bush in the square,in a Democracy it's ok to loot!, candy and roses etc.

What? I completely missed most of that. I don't ever remember anyone saying Iraqi oil would pay for the invasion.

Or that the war would be over in six weeks. What I do remember is my son-in-law discussing his upcoming deployment in 2003 and both of us saying we'd be there a minimum of 10 years.

Mission accomplished? For that ship, it was. Do you not understand a mission? Do you not understand that the accomplishment of one mission only makes the accomplishment of another one possible?

Statue of Bush in the square? oh please... link please?

And I've never ever heard that it's okay to loot anywhere, democracy or otherwise.

Sorry... about getting so riled. Well, a little bit sorry. Not a whole lot.

me;
Judging from the fragility of your grasp of reality, your support is dispensable. Have a nice day.

Actually, Iraqi oil was supposed to pay for the reconstruction. Guess what? It pretty much is.

Although I have not heard about this resolution until seeing this ad I cannot help but wonder who would vote against it. For, without more detail, it sounds to me like this is a great way to acknowledge the work done by our men and women in the armed forces.
